Something I did to kill time. And by time I mean almost an entire day. But meh, details.
This time I designed an outfit for
's OC, Grasswhistle. I kinda fell in love with her after seeing *
SoulSpade's rendition of her, and by *ahem*
coincidence I needed a couple of ponies to model for me anyway. So I was like "why not?" and went with it.
To be honest, I'm not even sure what genre I'm aiming for anymore; it seems like a big mashup of styles. The biggest difficulty encountered while designing this was the colouring process; it was hard to come up with a good colour scheme, and adding black only simplified the process instead of thoroughly solving it. I have to admit I'm a little embarrassed at that.

She's amazing :o You picked an expression and a pose that I think really suit her, first and foremost, which I think makes the whole thing better. And I never, never, ever thought I'd ever see Grasswhistle in this kind of outfit... and I approve xD I am very impressed that you made it work on her. Even with her usual flower it all still goes together. The bracelet and the collar I especially like... and you did so well on her mane and tail as well. And black is an excellent catch-all colour and that is why I use it in all my art always. I'm lazy!
And seriously I'm really a sucker for any design that even remotely looks like Nomura put his hands on it, so naturally I'm gushing all over this.
